Yesterday, Biden Was The Fool: Today, Aircraft Diverted for Possible Flu Case

A flight from Germany to Washington has been diverted to Boston because a passenger complained of flu-like symptoms.

Airport spokesman Phil Orlandella says United Airlines Flight 903 was being diverted Friday afternoon after a 53-year-old female passenger told flight attendants about her symptoms.

He says the flight from Munich had 245 passengers and six crew members. The flight had been scheduled to land at Washington Dulles International Airport later Friday.

It isn’t yet clear what caused the woman’s symptoms or whether she might be suffering from swine flu.

H1N1 (”swine flu”) is , contracted in an airborne droplet manner as well as hand-to-mouth/eyes/nose manner.

Vice President Biden was right. To avoid contagion, to reduce the incidence of exposure to this rather nasty virus, stay away from crowds and closely enclosed spaces. So avoiding bus, train and airline travel is correct – not a “gaffe.”

We are all too anxious to be politically correct and avoid affecting the various forms of the travel industry.

What the airline industry needs to do is acknowledge that the spread of this flu around the world is a result of infected travelers boarding airplanes and traveling around the world.

It may be devistating to the airlines to have to give refunds and cancel flights but that’s the only way you are going to be able to keep this disease from spreading to countries that are not currently affected.
